This session will describe Ethias’ journey to foster digital transition with AI on various axes, starting with a ‘quick’ approach, embracing the concept of ‘good enough’, and then scaling to a comprehensive corporate integration.
We have developed a new and disruptive alternative for the migration of legacy code. Our technology uses generative AI for translating old code to new languages and for testing the obtained new code. All of it runs automatically in a loop until the new system performs exactly as the old one.
This way we are able to reduce more than 90% the time and effort required for the migration. Projects that could easily require 2 to 4 years of uncertain hand-made translations can be done now within months and with the certainty that the final result will work right.
The reason? The current platform hosting this insurance policy will soon become obsolete in a market with 10,000 to 20,000 policies in stock for a simple product, with no choice of formula. A cost estimate calculated that it would take 1,000 man-days and several months to redevelop a new product for this specific insurance policy.
In searching for an alternative, we found a solution with a no-code/low-code platform, allowing development in a few weeks and an estimated manpower requirement of less than 100 days.
