When it comes to AI, insurers must balance innovation with responsibility. Regulatory requirements are evolving rapidly — developing smart AI must go hand in hand with effective governance structures.
This presentation will outline the path of DEVK in navigating the shift towards responsible, compliant AI. It will explore the regulatory landscape for AI in Europe, focusing on the EU AI Act, and outline key risks from a compliance perspective. Using our own AI governance framework and internal controls as an example, it will show how insurers can build trust and turn regulatory challenges into opportunities for ethical, legally compliant and future-proof AI use.
Many of our members hesitate when early signs of climate-related damage appear, often because it’s difficult to predict and comprehend the long-term consequences, and because their homes weren’t built for today’s climate. What was once considered sufficient due diligence might no longer apply. To address this, we’re developing an app that helps members identify potential risks and understand what their next steps could be.
The solution is still in development, and the process has been a journey in navigating legal compliance, technical possibilities, and user needs. In this talk, I’ll share what we’ve learned from this journey.
In 2024, we launched our AI governance framework to collectively build expertise in all areas of AI, involving all departments across the company. In this second year, we are moving towards a more actionable governance model: a strategic component to anticipate transformations and target investments, and an operational component to involve key players in integrating AI solutions into our digital assets.
